PM Calls Upon Institutions To Raise Voice Against Terrorism
Pakistan joins the international community in observing the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism on 21 August 2026. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his condolences and solidarity with those affected by terrorism worldwide.
"Terrorism remains one of the most serious challenges confronting humanity," the Prime Minister stated. He highlighted the immense suffering inflicted by terrorists, especially on innocent civilians, and the devastating impact it has had on societies.
Pakistan, like many nations, has endured significant losses due to terrorism. The Prime Minister paid tribute to the valiant armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent citizens who have sacrificed their lives in the fight against this scourge. He emphasized that Pakistan’s struggle against terrorism is unwavering and will continue until this menace is eradicated completely.
"No nation, civilization, religion or faith in the world advocates terrorism," he said. The Prime Minister called for unconditional condemnation of terrorism and reinforced the importance of global cooperation to combat it effectively. Furthermore, he stressed the responsibility to rehabilitate victims of terrorism, both physically, psychologically, and socially. Pakistan has implemented a comprehensive support system for martyrs, their families, and victims, ensuring access to healthcare, rehabilitation, and essential services.
