Preparation Of Quality, Effective Textbooks Essential For Improvement Of Education System: Lal Jan

QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) Balochistan Secretary Secondary Education, Lal Jan Jafar on Monday said that the preparation of quality and effective textbooks was of fundamental importance in improvement of the education system.
He made these remarks while addressing as chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of a three-day training workshop organized by the Balochistan Textbook Board to enhance the capacity of book writers, editors, and reviewers, further improving textbook quality and aligning them with modern requirements.
Dr. Gulab Khan Khilji, Chairman Balochistan Textbook Board; Dr. Niaz Tareen, Secretary Balochistan Textbook Board; Naimatullah Khan Kakar, Director Idara Nisabiyat; Fatima Mandokhel, Director PITE; book writers (authors) of various subjects from the education department; book reviewers, professors, assistant professors, PhD doctors, academic experts; and officers of the Balochistan Textbook Board attended the ceremony.
Jafar emphasized that continuous professional development in book preparation is crucial to provide students with quality, understandable, research-based, and modern educational materials. He stated that the workshop aims to enhance the skills of experts involved in textbook creation, ensuring awareness of contemporary educational principles and improving overall effectiveness.
Dr. Gulab Khan Khilji highlighted that a textbook is not merely an information repository but a vital tool for developing students’ intellectual, academic, and creative skills. Therefore, it requires meticulous attention to quality, accuracy, research, language, expression, and age-appropriateness for different student levels during preparation.
He applauded the training workshop’s initiative, noting that it provides book writers, editors, and reviewers with a platform to enhance their skills in modern teaching methodologies, curriculum requirements, and effective educational material creation.
The Chairman Balochistan Textbook Board assured continued commitment from the board to deliver quality, modern textbooks to students across the province. He expressed his intent to leverage expertise from education professionals, publishers, and related fields to maintain textbook standards.
Over the three-day workshop, participants will gain insights into effective writing, editing, reviewing, content accuracy, language refinement, and curriculum material preparation according to contemporary educational demands.
