President Stresses Prompt Resolution Of Workplace Harassment Complaints
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Aug, 2026) President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday stressed the need to strengthen internal processes and monitoring mechanisms to ensure that complaints of workplace harassment are resolved promptly and efficiently.
The president made these remarks while receiving the Annual Report 2025 of the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection against Harassment (FOSPAH) from Ombudsperson, Fauzia Viqar here at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The President appreciated the role of FOSPAH in safeguarding individuals against workplace harassment and called for increased awareness initiatives about the services provided by the institution.
According to the report presented to the president, FOSPAH received 1,119 harassment complaints during 2024-25 and decided on 1,047. Additionally, 352 complaints relating to property deprivation were received and 238 were decided. The report noted a 375% increase in complaint registration compared to the previous year.
The president emphasised that complaints should be examined fairly and on merit, with due process ensuring that genuine cases of harassment are addressed promptly while allegations are assessed carefully in accordance with the law.
Sen. Saleem Mandviwalla was also present during the meeting.
