Punjab Police Arrest Over 109,000 Proclaimed Offenders Across Province This Year

Punjab Police have intensified their province-wide crackdown against proclaimed offenders (POs), habitual criminals, court absconders, and suspects wanted in heinous crimes, arresting more than 109,000 proclaimed offenders, over 33,000 court absconders, and nearly 12,000 habitual criminals so far this year.

According to a Punjab Police spokesperson:

  • 27,820 Category-A and 81,391 Category-B proclaimed offenders were arrested.
  • 33,337 court absconders were apprehended, comprising 5,031 Category-A and 28,306 Category-B offenders.
  • 11,990 habitual criminals, including 4,213 Category-A and 7,777 Category-B offenders, were also arrested.

In Lahore alone, police arrested 25,118 proclaimed offenders, 10,696 court absconders, and 4,898 habitual criminals during the crackdown.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem praised the police teams for their performance and directed field formations to further intensify operations against proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals, and court absconders to ensure effective enforcement of the law and maintain public safety across the province.
