Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has expressed a desire to play football without his "name being mentioned every day" following a recent podcast debate about him.
Rashford responded to a clip from the Stick to Football podcast, where Jamie Carragher voiced frustration at former United defender Gary Neville’s persistent questions about Rashford.
"Can we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford?" Carragher said.
"Stop it. Oh my God. It’s like the Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Rashford… like a little part of the podcast. The Trent part or the Rashford part."
Rashford, in turn, posted on X (presumably referring to Twitter or another social media platform) thanking Carragher and stating: "It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day."
The 28-year-old is set to remain at United after a successful loan spell at Barcelona last season, where he won La Liga. His last competitive appearance for United was in December 2024 under former manager Ruben Amorim. He could feature in their Premier League opener against Hull on Saturday.
Defender Harry Maguire expressed hope that Rashford would stay at Old Trafford, stating the forward is a "big asset" and "huge threat".
