Sandal Express restored on Federal Ombudsman’s intervention

Sargodha, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) The Sandal Express train officially resumed its operations on the Multan-Sargodha route following the timely intervention of Federal Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch, bringing major relief to local commuters.

According to a spokesperson, residents of Sillanwali and surrounding areas, led by Muhammad Ramzan Nasir, had lodged a complaint with the Federal Ombudsman stating that the suspension of the train service was causing severe travel hardships for the public, particularly students, employees, and businesspersons. They noted that numerous small stations along the route had grown deserted due to the prolonged closure.

Upon receiving the petition, Regional Head of the Federal Ombudsman Sargodha, Khawaja Saif-ur-Rehman, promptly initiated proceedings and summoned railway officials from Rawalpindi and Multan for a hearing. When the department failed to offer a satisfactory explanation for the delay, Federal Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch directed the railway authorities to immediately restore the service to fulfill a longstanding public demand.

As a result of the directive, the Sandal Express resumed operations today, departing from Multan at 06:30 AM and arriving at Sargodha railway station at approximately 01:30 PM after passing through various intermediate stations.
