Terrorism a Grave Crime Against Humanity, Serious Threat to Global Peace: Ayaz
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Thursday said that terrorism is a grave crime against humanity and a serious threat to global peace and security.
He paid rich tribute to the innocent civilians, brave personnel of the security forces and law-enforcement agencies who embraced martyrdom in acts of terrorism, stating their sacrifices will always be remembered.
Ayaz Sadiq expressed these views in his message on the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, observed annually on August 21.
He stated that:
- Pakistan has been battling the scourge of terrorism for decades, during which the nation has made unparalleled sacrifices.*
The Speaker highlighted the sacrifices of the brave soldiers and innocent civilians who embraced martyrdom in the fight against terrorism as an indelible chapter in national history. He reaffirmed that these martyrs’ sacrifices will never be in vain and that their families will always be held in the highest esteem.
Ayaz Sadiq commended Pakistan’s security forces and law-enforcement agencies for their courageous and professional work on the front lines in the fight against terrorism. He expressed national pride in their efforts and declared that every conspiracy against Pakistan will be thwarted through collective action.
He further pointed out:
- Terrorist elements, backed by Indian-sponsored groups like Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, seek to spread fear by targeting innocent civilians and undermine the country’s peace and stability. However, their nefarious designs will fail.*
Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the importance of national unity and cooperation among state institutions in combating terrorism. He assured that indiscriminate action against terrorists and their facilitators will continue until terrorism is completely eradicated.
