Ch. Shafay Reaches Canada to Promote Foreign Investment in Punjab
Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, is visiting Canada to encourage foreign investment in Punjab and inform Canadian investors about the province’s investment prospects. This visit follows a warm welcome upon his arrival in Toronto, hosted by Pakistan Muslim League Canada.
The event drew attendees including Pakistan Muslim League Toronto President Ghouse Dar, Chaudhry Amir Mubarak, Hassan Iftikhar, Rashid Warraich, Amir Butt, Pakistan Muslim League Hamilton President Chaudhry Zafar, other party officials, CEO Global Trade Rana Tanveer, and a large gathering of overseas Pakistanis. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada Muhammad Saleem, Consul General in Toronto Khalil Ahmed Bajwa, and other diplomats were also present.
In his address at the reception, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain highlighted the role of overseas Pakistanis as ambassadors for their country and emphasized their contribution to Pakistan’s development and economic stability. He noted that Punjab provides a favorable environment for industrial and commercial activities and investment, boasting Special Economic Zones with world-class infrastructure and incentives for investors.
These incentives include:
- 10-year income tax exemption for investments in Special Economic Zones.
- Duty-free import of machinery on a one-time basis.
The Provincial Minister extended an invitation to Canadian investors to explore investment opportunities in Punjab, assuring them of the government’s full support. He emphasized the potential for enhanced trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Canada, highlighting the valuable role overseas Pakistanis can play in this regard.
Chaudhry Shafay Hussain also expressed his commitment to strengthening Pakistan Muslim League Canada and thanked its organization and overseas Pakistanis for their warm reception. During his visit, he will participate in the Lifestyle Expo organized by World Trade Developers and meet with expo organizers to discuss exhibition arrangements.
