Christian Community Delegation Discuss Marriage Act With KP Speaker
UrduPoint (August 20, 2026) – PESHAWAR: A delegation of the Christian community on Thursday met with Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati to discuss various aspects of the Christian Marriage Act.

- It was informed that the bill is currently with the local government department, pending clearance before being forwarded to the law department and subsequently to the cabinet for approval.
- Further consultations with representatives from Catholic, Protestant, Pentecostal, and other Christian denominations will be held during the standing committee stage to gather their proposals and input.
Speaker Babar Saleem Swati emphasized a collaborative approach, stating that the legislative process will consider all stakeholders’ recommendations to ensure a comprehensive and effective law.
