Inter-college Football Matches Held in Larkana for Independence Day Unity
UrduPoint reports that as part of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day celebrations, an inter-college football match was organized by Larkana Sports at the Municipal Stadium on August 17, 2026. The event featured a match between Green Football Club Larkana and White Football Club Larkana, with the latter emerging victorious by scoring two goals.
Advocate Anwar Ali Luhur, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Larkana, served as the Chief Guest. Muhammad Ismail Brohi, General Secretary of the Football Association, Muhammad Mahfooz Makani, District Sports Officer Larkana, and other dignitaries attended. They presented trophies and prizes to the winning and runner-up teams.
Anwar Ali Luhur, in his speech, emphasized unity and collaboration for Pakistan’s development, remembering the sacrifices that led to its independence. He highlighted the Sindh Government’s efforts to promote sports among youth by revitalizing sports grounds.
The national anthem was played, and guests received traditional Sindhi Ajraks from the Sports Department. Spectators joined in with patriotic slogans of "Pakistan Zindabad."
In a related event, a table tennis competition for girls was organized by Larkana Sports Department. Government Girls College Larkana secured first place, while Government Begum Nusrat Bhutto Girls College Larkana took second. Professor Karam Hussain Wadho, Regional Director Colleges Larkana, stressed the importance of sports in girls’ education and personal development.
