PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) At least three landmine explosions were reported in the Kurram district over three days, resulting in nine serious injuries and sparking fear among locals.

According to local police on Monday, all three incidents occurred in the remote Dandar Sahara area of Kurram. In the morning blast, a laborer identified as Hamid Hussain lost both legs after triggering a landmine the previous day. Two more people were injured in separate incidents later that same day.

Local reports suggest that three young men have sustained severe injuries leading to permanent disabilities in these recent incidents. Police stated that several cases of landmines and falling mortar shells have been documented in Kurram over the past week, with nine individuals reported injured in such incidents over the last three days.

These recurring incidents have raised concerns among residents, who have urged authorities to identify and clear landmines from the area to prevent further casualties.
