LDA Governing Body Approves Rs. 88.613 Billion Budget for 2026-27

LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 19, 2026) The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) governing body, chaired by Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmad, on Wednesday approved the LDA budget for the financial year 2026-27 along with several other important agenda items.

Parliamentary Secretary for Housing Barrister Sultan Bajwa and Vice Chairman WASA Chaudhry Shahbaz attended the sixth meeting of the LDA governing body, while Director General LDA Tahir Farooq briefed participants on various agenda items.

Budget Details:

  • Total budget: Rs. 88.613 billion (for LDA and Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency – TEPA)
  • LDA revenue target: Rs. 47 billion
  • Loans: Rs. 10 billion from Punjab government for structure plan roads, Rs. 6.3 billion for Annual Development Programme (ADP) schemes
  • Development works allocations:
    • LDA City: Rs. 12.5 billion
    • Sustainable development and urban regeneration: Rs. 13.5 billion
    • LDA Avenue 1: Rs. 4 billion

Other Decisions:

  • TEPA budget: Rs. 3.5 billion for 2026-27
  • Amendments: To the LDA Building and Zoning Regulations, 2019
  • Revenue targets:
    • LDA Town Planning: Rs. 17 billion
    • Sales and Allotment: Rs. 19.2 billion (including Rs. 15 billion from LDA City)

Pilot Projects:

  • Imposing maintenance charges for residential and commercial properties in LDA Avenue 1, Jubilee Town, and LDA Enclave.
  • Development and marketing of commercial plots on 118 kanals of land along Ferozepur Road near Arfa Karim Tower for a proposed LDA Tech Park.

UNICEF Collaboration:

  • Allocation of Rs. 100 million for initiatives aimed at making Lahore a child-friendly city.

New Initiatives:

  • Launch of a new Pine Sector in LDA City with commercial and residential plots.
  • Installation of solar lights in various blocks of LDA City.

The governing body appreciated Director General LDA Tahir Farooq and his team for achieving a record revenue target of Rs. 32 billion last year, marking the first time in LDA’s history.
