Model Village Project: Commissioner Expresses Displeasure Over Poor Quality Of Work
DERA GHAZI KHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan, Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry, expressed serious displeasure over substandard construction work at the Model Village Project in Basti Rekhra near Aali Wala in the district on Thursday.
Project Visit and Inspection
The commissioner visited the project site and inspected the ongoing development works, focusing on the quality of construction materials and work pace.
Defects Found and Reprimand
Upon finding defects in some of the work, he expressed strong displeasure and reprimanded the officials concerned. He directed them not to tolerate substandard materials or poor-quality construction.
Project Importance and Standards
Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry emphasized that the Model Village project is an important welfare and development initiative by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aiming to provide basic facilities to rural communities. He stressed that negligence or dereliction of duty in such a project would not be tolerated, demanding strict adherence to approved designs and prescribed standards.
