PMLN Success in AJK Election Testifies Party’s Popularity, Development Agenda: Experts
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 17, 2026) Political and international relations experts here Monday said that success of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) election testified party’s rising popularity and development agenda.
Malik Tariq Awan, PMLN Member Provincial Assembly here said that people of Azad Kashmir have reposed full confidence in policies of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, PMLN President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Talking to APP, he stated, "PML-N has secured a two-thirds majority by securing 25 seats after three phases of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections." He added that this historic victory has unnerved the political opponents.
He further mentioned that PMLN is all set to form a strong government in Azad Jummu and Kashmir after achieving a two-third majority following reserved seats.
"PML-N has secured a two-thirds majority in the 53-member assembly," Tariq said, adding that the party had won 25 seats in the AJK elections. He assured that PMLN will fulfill all its promises made with electorates and remove the sense of deprivation among masses.
Shahibzada Hamaza, PMLN Nowshera district stated that past governments of opposing parties had failed to address issues like unemployment, price hike, poverty, and inflation. He emphasized that PMLN is the only party equipped to tackle these problems on a priority basis.
He expressed confidence in the PMLN government, saying, "People of Azad Kashmir have pinned high hopes on PMLN Govt as the party has strong leadership and rich experience to put Azad Kashmir on the road to prosperity."
