Punjab Govt Finalizes Special Security Arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)

LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 20, 2026) The 57th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order was held in the Punjab Home Department, chaired by Provincial Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee, Khawaja Salman Rafique. Provincial Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab, Rana Bilal Ahmed, attended the meeting specifically.

In the meeting, the Cabinet Committee reviewed security and other arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). Secretary Punjab Home, Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi, provided a briefing.

Provincial Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Khawaja Salman Rafique, stated that the Punjab government will celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with utmost devotion, respect, and religious fervor. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, exceptional security arrangements are being implemented for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). Cities across Punjab will be beautifully decorated, and special illuminations will be set up. Educational institutions will host special events centered around Milad gatherings and Seerat-e-Tayyaba. Langar and sweets will also be provided for central processions and Milad gatherings.

Khawaja Salman Rafique emphasized that respected scholars from all schools of thought will convey a message of mutual understanding, unity, and adherence to the Seerat-e-Pak (PBUH) on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). He imposed a strict ban on illegal use of loudspeakers, wall chalking, hate speeches, and aerial firing.

Provincial Minister Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman suggested making special arrangements for sabeels and langar along the routes of main processions on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). He also urged the administration to ensure that no sectarian material is printed at any printing house.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Rana Bilal Ahmed, noted that Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) brings joy to the entire Ummah and should be celebrated with mutual understanding and national unity. All relevant institutions and officials should remain highly alert during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). He stressed ensuring the implementation of rules and regulations issued by the Home Department regarding Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

Secretary Home Punjab, Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi, assured that exemplary arrangements are being made for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) on the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab. He emphasized the presence of security personnel on duty throughout all processions and Milad gatherings.

Attending the meeting were Secretary Home Punjab, Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi, Special Secretary Home, Faisal Farid, Additional IG Police, Asim, Additional IG Special Branch, Commissioner Lahore, DIG CTD, Additional Secretary Internal Security, Additional Secretary Home, and Additional Secretary Judicial, along with officials from relevant institutions.
