Sindh Students Clinch Third Prize at Youth Film Festival 2026
Students of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, have clinched third prize at the National Climate Justice Youth Film Festival 2026. The festival, organized by the Indus Consortium at Pakistan Red Crescent’s headquarters in Islamabad, focused on electric vehicles’ role in combating climate change.
Students from various universities participated, presenting documentaries on climate change and its solutions. The winning team from University of Sindh consisted of Shayan Ali, Alisha Rind, Shehnaz Baloch, and Zulfiqar Lashari.
Professor Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor of the university, commended the students’ efforts and highlighted the relevance of the festival’s theme in addressing contemporary environmental challenges. He noted Pakistan’s target to have 30% electric vehicles by 2030.
"Engaging youth in climate-related initiatives is crucial," said Professor Marri, "They are not just the future but an integral part of the solution."
The event also saw the presence of Professor Dr. Ismail Kunbhar from Sindh Agricultural University and Dr. Muhammad Qasim Nizamani, Chairman of the Department.
